Startup MINTLIST Offers “Pain Free Car Sales” in New Online Ad

(VANCOUVER) – A new online video ad for MINTLIST offers people in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland a new, painless way to get the most for their used vehicles.

You can see the lighthearted spot here.

“We set out to eliminate key pain points most people experience buying, trading, or selling a car, and we’re excited to publicly release the selling phase first,” said co-founder Mike Wood.

MINTLIST is currently available in the first phase – connecting consumers looking to sell their cars directly to vetted buyers without having to leave their home or entertain tire kickers knocking on their door.

The first ad focuses specifically on the experience women face in the used car market. In its Beta phase, MINTLIST confirmed its assumptions that the platform’s transparency and ease of use would appeal especially to women who traditionally feel either unsafe selling their car from home, or at a disadvantage when transacting with dealers. In fact to date,  nearly ⅔ of the consumers transacting on the platform are women.

“It’s been so satisfying to see how well the platform works,” said co-founder Mehrsa Raeiszadeh. “Consumers can list their car with us, and qualified buyers will have 45-minutes to  compete for a vehicle that’s already passed our online inspection. People looking to sell get the best price, and dealers have access to this inventory in a tight used-car market. So far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. ”

MINTLIST is an independent marketplace that is not owned or driven by any one dealer or  group. Its independence is part of what makes it such a great deal for consumers looking to get the best price for their auto, driving a level of competition for their vehicles with complete transparency unlike any other.

Last year, MINTLIST raised over $3 million in its funding rounds, and won first prize in the prestigious New Ventures BC competition. Raeiszadeh is the only person who has won first prize twice since it was first awarded 21 years ago.

“Our first place finish in this year’s NVBC Competition validates that when two founders, one with deep auto industry knowledge, and the other with technology know-how come together, good things happen,” she said.

“We know we’re on the right track to build a business that can scale and grow in Canada and internationally,” Wood concluded. “After our successful beta testing, we’re excited to be able to open up the platform to everyone in the Greater Vancouver area.”
